Kasbah Telouat and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou are an essential part of any desert tour. In addition, we will visit the co-operative of the Nationwide Famous Green Pottery and the Coranic Library with its magnificent manuscripts. For the grand finale, you will experience the most expansive sahara dunes in Morocco.

TOUR PLAN
Morning Departure:
- Pick-up from Marrakech: Early morning departure from your accommodation in Marrakech, usually around 7-8 AM.
- Drive through the Atlas Mountains: Travel through the scenic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, which is the highest major mountain pass in North Africa at 2,260 meters (7,410 feet) above sea level. Enjoy the breathtaking views and stop for photos along the way.
Ait Benhaddou:
- Visit Ait Benhaddou: Stop to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a well-preserved ksar (fortified village) that has been featured in many movies and TV shows, including “Gladiator” and “Game of Thrones.” Spend some time walking through the ancient streets and climbing to the top for panoramic views.
Lunch:
- Lunch Break: Enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch at a local restaurant in Ait Benhaddou or nearby Ouarzazate.
Drive to Zagora:
- Ouarzazate: Continue your journey through Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” This city is known for its film studios and the impressive Taourirt Kasbah.
- Draa Valley: Drive through the stunning Draa Valley, which is dotted with palm groves, Berber villages, and ancient kasbahs. The Draa River, Morocco’s longest river, flows through this valley.
Arrive in Zagora:
- Camel Trekking: Upon arrival in Zagora in the late afternoon, meet your camel caravan for a memorable camel trek into the desert. Enjoy the serene beauty of the Sahara as you ride your camel towards the desert camp.
- Desert Camp: Arrive at your desert camp where you’ll be welcomed with traditional Moroccan tea. Settle into your Berber tent and soak in the desert atmosphere.
- Dinner and Campfire: Enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner under the stars, followed by music and storytelling around the campfire. Experience the tranquility of the desert night.
Sunrise and Breakfast:
Desert Sunrise: Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. The soft light and serene surroundings create a magical experience.
Breakfast: Enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast at the camp.
Return Journey:
Camel Trek Back: After breakfast, embark on a camel trek back to Zagora where your driver will be waiting.
Drive to Marrakech: Begin the journey back to Marrakech, retracing your route through the Draa Valley and the Atlas Mountains.

Lunch Break: Stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the way.
Afternoon Arrival:
Arrival in Marrakech: Arrive back in Marrakech in the late afternoon or early evening. You will be dropped off at your accommodation, marking the end of your desert adventure.
